Police, acting on a tip, arrested four drug traffickers Friday and seized half a ton of pure cocaine with a street value of about $22.5 million, a police spokesman said Saturday.

The four suspects, three Italians and a Colombian, had been under surveillance since police received information that they had come to Brazil to negotiate a big cocaine deal for the Italian market.

Police found keys to a truck in the Colombian’s pockets and found the vehicle later. Inside, they said, they found the drug neatly packaged in wrappings stamped with comic strip characters and the name “Los Nada Que Ver.” Police said the name is a trademark used by Colombia’s Cali drug cartel.
