BABY INSANE

Gee, I think I’ve just been “dis’d” by Baby Insane, the Buddha and the guy who wrote the story (“Baby Insane and the Buddha,” by Bob Sipchen, Sept. 16). Am I supposed to be wowed that 70 Crips are now temporarily out of commission and that one of the 70 is heading straight for the straight life? Am I supposed to be impressed because Pat Birse showed Kevin Glass how to sell information instead of drugs, which will be of little value in surviving his new life style? I also expect Baby Insane will experience a “crip” in his consumerism once he goes straight. I don’t know many in the straight world who wear or can afford a $400 pair of sunglasses. But if this is not enough to “dis” anyone, I’m sure I’ll soon be reading about the megabucks offered to these two for the movie rights to their story. So Glass sells and Birse buys. The Crips, the Bloods, Baby Insane and the Buddha are just businessmen taking care of business. Is that insane or what?
