COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT : Weekday Update : USC : Royster Running at 1,000-Yard Pace

In five games as USC’s starting tailback, sophomore Mazio Royster has rushed for 642 yards and six touchdowns in 119 carries, averaging 128.4 yards a game and 5.4 yards a carry.
In Saturday’s 31-31 tie against California, he ran for 175 yards and two touchdowns in 24 carries, averaging 7.3 yards.
Royster needs to average 72.5 yards in USC’s last four games, including a probable bowl appearance, to become the first Trojan sophomore to rush for 1,000 yards since 1977, when Charles White rushed for 1,478.
The starting time for USC’s game against Oregon State Saturday at Corvallis, Ore., has been changed to 3:30 p.m. to accommodate Prime Ticket, which will televise the game.
