No Cracks Found in Pipeline: No cracks have been found so far at a site on the 800-mile trans-Alaska pipeline that is one of 19 sites being reinspected by pipeline operators to check allegations by a former subcontract employee that poorly trained workers falsified corrosion tests. Preliminary results of new tests on a 60-foot length of pipeline turned up no stress corrosion cracking in an area specifically identified by the former employee. Final results from all the sites should be ready by mid-December, a spokeswoman for Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. said.
