Girl Rescued From Canyon
A 14-year-old girl, who fell 15 to 40 feet down a canyon in Lime Kiln Canyon Park in Porter Ranch, was rescued this morning by firefighters, who said she may have been there overnight.
Fire officials would not release her name and said they did not yet know how she fell down the steep ravine. She was airlifted by helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles suffering from a broken pelvis, two broken legs and chest injuries, said Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells.
It took rescuers 45 minutes to pull the girl from the canyon near Tampa Avenue and Hollow Springs Drive.
