HOT, HIP & HAPPENING : Press Club, Boy Scouts in Media Venture

Share

The Orange County Press Club is undertaking a venture with the Boy Scouts of America to sponsor a group for teen-agers interested in journalism and related fields.

Under the plan, Press Club members would serve as advisers for the Explorer Post, which would meet two or three times a month. Activities would include tours of local newspapers, cable television stations and radio stations, and probably a production of a newsletter, according to Robin Kruger, exploring executive.

Potential members--girls and boys between 14 and 20--are welcome to attend the post’s first meeting tonight at the Days Inn Santa Ana, 1600 E. 1st Street, Santa Ana. The post has an annual fee of $12, payable to the Boy Scouts of America for insurance and administrative costs.
