Charles A. Koepke; Environmental Teacher
Charles A. Koepke, 61, environmental scientist who taught at Upland Junior High School. He was director of Terracorps International Ecological Program, a classroom program to teach students around the world how to preserve the environment. The program was funded by the National Science Foundation. Trained as a biologist, Koepke published poetry, wrote musical scores, painted and sculpted. He worked with several companies’ bootstrap programs to provide jobs for the underprivileged. On Oct. 29 in Upland of heart failure.
