HEADING EAST: Tom Larson, president of the county’s Tree Society, is going to Washington to shake hands with a Bush. . . . He’ll be one of 20 tree-planting advocates summoned by the President for a Sunday banquet highlighting the Administration’s “America the Beautiful” campaign. . . . Bush was scheduled to plant a tree here last July when he attended the opening of the Nixon Library, but he canceled. Larsen said he’s trying to reschedule the event.
