Listen to the Voice of the Children

I was very disappointed when I read “On a Carousel of Hope” (Oct. 29) about the fund-raising event for children’s diabetes.

I am 9 years old, and I was one of the children with diabetes to attend the party. That night, we all sang, “We are the World, We are the Children.”

I was disappointed because all the reporters were only interested in all the famous people who were there and the beautiful clothing, and jewelry. You never mentioned a word about the children who have diabetes and were there for all the young diabetics. I think sometimes, some people forget the real meaning of the event. Thanks for the $5 million dollars . . . raised that night.
