County Offers Reward in Slaying of Girl, 14

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a $5,000 reward for information about the strangulation of a 14-year-old runaway whose body was found on a roadside in Lancaster last month.

The reward was proposed by Supervisor Mike Antonovich “because there were no leads in the case,” said Antonovich’s deputy, Sherry Lasagna. “It’s got them baffled.”

The body of Angela Migliore was found behind a tumbleweed near 70th Street East and Avenue N on Oct. 11. Investigators said she had been strangled elsewhere.

Neighbors said Migliore had run away from home after arguing with an older brother. The girl left in the family car, planning to meet a friend in Lancaster. The two never met and the car was found in a residential neighborhood near downtown Lancaster the next morning.

The county reward combined with $5,000 offered by the Lancaster City Council last week will hopefully lead to “information that will help the homicide detectives,” Lasagna said.
