Pratt & Whitney Gets $220-Million Order

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. —
Pratt & Whitney, a unit of United Technologies Corp., said it has won a contract worth up to $220 million to provide jet engines for Korean Air Lines.
Deliveries are scheduled to start next September, Pratt & Whitneyt said.
The carrier placed firm orders for 16 engines, including spares, worth $135 million, Pratt & Whitney said. These engines are for use on seven A300-600R airliners KAL has ordered from Airbus Industries, the European consortium, according to Pratt & Whitney.
Also, KAL took an option on another 10 engines, worth for $85 million.
