Firm Says Thanks by Contributing

On behalf of PACE Membership Warehouse Inc., I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many organizations and the entire community for their responsiveness and assistance in handling the Oct. 9 robbery attempt at our warehouse on Florence Avenue.

While an incident of this nature and magnitude is certainly a tragedy, it also serves to confirm how a community can pull together in time of crisis. The level of professionalism, cooperation and coordination displayed by the organizations responding to the emergency was tremendous. Specifically, we would like to thank the Downey Police Department, Downey Community Hospital, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, the American Red Cross Rio Hondo Chapter and the Downey Fire Department and paramedics.

As a measure of our strong belief in corporate and community responsibility, PACE is making a $4,000 contribution to the Downey Police and Fire Memorial Trust Foundation on behalf of the two officers injured in the robbery attempt. The fund, established in response to the community’s outpouring of support for their local law-enforcement officials, will be set up as a permanent foundation to assist the officers and/or families of Downey police or fire officials who are injured or killed in the line of duty. We are pleased to be able to lead the way in providing support for this foundation.

PACE also is making a $1,000 contribution to Project DARE. At PACE, we believe in giving youth the opportunities they deserve. Project DARE provides those opportunities. It is with pride that we make both of these contributions on behalf of the officers.

Again, on behalf of PACE Membership Warehouse’s 10 Southern California locations and corporate offices in Colorado, thank you. We are proud to be a part of your community.
