South Korea to Open Securities Markets: Foreign securities companies will be allowed to set up branches and joint ventures in South Korea next year, but will have to meet tough capital requirements, according to ministry of finance guidelines. Draft copies of the guidelines were leaked to foreign securities companies in Seoul. A member of the team responsible for the guidelines said he expected no significant changes before they are formally announced early next month.
