WORLD : S. Africa Black Children Clubbed
From Times Wire Services
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa —
Neo-Nazis in uniforms with swastika-style insignia whipped and clubbed a group of 400 black children on a Sunday School picnic in a white South African town, injuring at least seven, witnesses said today.
Several people were hurt in another town Sunday when brown-shirted whites attacked a meeting of the mainly black National Union of Mineworkers, the NUM said.
About 25 whites in neo-Nazi khaki uniforms lashed out at the 400 black children, aged between 7 and 14, at the picnic in a park at Louis Trichardt.
