Richard Ottaviano has been named vice president of human resources for AST Research Inc., an Irvine computer company. Before joining the company, he was corporate vice president of human resources at Cipher Data Products in San Diego. Previously, Ottaviano held various positions with Xerox Corp. in El Segundo, including vice president of human resources.
