Ecuador Mob Torches Jail, Kills 4 Inmates

QUITO, Ecuador —
A mob stormed a jail and burned to death a man and his three sons who had been arrested on charges of killing a shopkeeper, police said Friday.
About 1,500 people surrounded the jail in La Mana, a village 71 miles southeast of Quito, forcing the guards to flee, police said. The crowd then spread gasoline and set fire to the jail.
