On the ‘The Beach’

I disagree completely with the view that “China Beach” has become farcical (TV Times, Nov. 11). On the contrary, this season poignantly depicts the kind of physical and psychological devastation and damage wrecked on those who participated in a meaningless (and monetarily costly) exercise.
