Bambi’s Beau: Dominick Gugliatto, the boyfriend of prison escapee Lawrencia (Bambi) Bembenek, is free on $100,000 bond from a Fond Du Lac, Wis., jail. Gugliatto is charged with helping Bembenek escape from prison July 15. She was serving a life sentence for the 1981 murder of her husband’s former wife. He and Bembenek were captured Oct. 17 in Ontario. The story of the former Playboy club waitress’ conviction and escape from prison made headlines.

Ready, Your Honor: The author of a book on the 1969 Chappaquiddick accident in which Mary Jo Kopechne died in Sen. Edward Kennedy’s car is eager for a suit filed against him by an investigator in the case to go to trial. Investigator Bernard Flynn filed the suit in Massachussets in June against Leo Damore, the author of “Senatorial Privilege.” Flynn seeks $50,000 he claims Damore verbally promised him for information. “(Flynn) stacked the cards of the inquest for Ted Kennedy,” Damore said in Boston. “And now he wants to be paid for it?”

War Words: Correspondence between two great minds of the 20th Century will be auctioned by Sotheby’s in New York next Tuesday. A draft of Albert Einstein’s four-page letter to Sigmund Freud and Freud’s 14-page response are expected to reap about $150,000. The letters describe the warlike nature of humans.

The Nancy Touch: Celebrity hairdresser Robin Weir is back on the job after two weeks of hospitalization in Baltimore for ulcerated colitis. Weir said Sunday that two weeks without solid food thinned him down, but when he received a get-well letter from former client Nancy Reagan, “that got me extra Jell-O from the nurses.”
