Human Rights Panel Urges Probe in Iran

UNITED NATIONS —
A U.N. committee voiced its concern Tuesday about human rights violations in Iran and asked the Tehran government to investigate and rectify the situation.
The General Assembly’s Third Committee approved by consensus a resolution citing “important and useful information concerning a number of allegations about the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
