P.M. BRIEFING : 22,000 Apply for Brewery Jobs
Miller Brewing Co. has received 22,000 applications for jobs at a brewery that won’t open until next month and isn’t expected to have more than 1,500 employees.
Miller began advertising to fill the jobs a week ago.
Miller expects to start production at the $411-million brewery in July. The company has advertised in newspapers in Cincinnati, Dayton, Hamilton and Middletown for secretarial and clerical workers and production workers.
Applications came from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Miller is not accepting applications by telephone or in person to avoid being mobbed by job-seekers.
