P.M. BRIEFING : Philippines Investments Drop

MANILA —
Foreign investments in the Philippines dropped more than 71% during the third quarter of this year, the Central Bank reported today.
The bank said new foreign investments during the period amounted to $79 million, down from $282 million the same time last year. It also said capital withdrawals surged 261.4% to $206 million during the first nine months of the year, up from $57 million a year earlier.
