SCENE ON THE STREET : Holiday Decorators, Take a Bough

Share

Whole blocks are wreathed with smiles these days. The college crowd is home; the grandparents are visiting. The family circle is unbroken, and the front doors swing with symbolism.

Ever-popular evergreens are still the basis for most wreaths, such as the big one over the door at the Parkway Grill in Pasadena (coincidentally seeming to rate itself a 10.)

One Pasadena entrance, however, branches out with ribbon-entwined twigs, sheltering a pair of birds; a San Marino creation makes the point with barbed wire.
