Few in Aviation on Drugs, Report Shows: Fewer than one-half percent of more than 120,000 recent drug tests in the aviation industry showed the presence of drugs, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The tests were conducted among commercial aviation employees ranging from pilots to airport security screening personnel, as well as people applying for such safety or security sensitive jobs, the FAA said. An analysis of the 120,642 tests showed drugs in 561, just 0.47% of the total, the FAA said. Of the 561, 345 were in pre-employment tests, and those people were not hired for sensitive jobs. Employees who tested positive were removed from sensitive positions, the agency said.
