Op Wintersurf Pro to Be Held Feb. 23-24

Several of the world’s top snowboarders and surfers will compete in the Op Wintersurf Pro Feb. 23-24 at Huntington Beach and Mountain High Ski Area in Wrightwood, Ocean Pacific officials announced Wednesday.

The event begins Feb. 23 with the surfing competition north of the Huntington Beach Pier. Results will be added to those from the snowboarding event at Mountain High the following day to determine an overall champion.

Several of the top surfers on the world tour have shown interest in the event, including Gary Elkerton of Mooloolaba, Australia, who’s also an avid snowboarder.
