P.M. BRIEFING : British Trade Deficit Shrinks
LONDON —
Britain’s trade deficit shrank to $1.84 billion in November from $2.02 billion the previous month as imports declined as a result of the nation’s economic slowdown, the government said today.
However, the latest figure was worse than the $1.8-billion deficit the financial markets had been expecting.
The figures for Britain’s current account, which includes invisible trade such as services, were the same because invisible trade has been in balance.
