Nissan Motor Plans Restructuring: The Japanese auto maker said it will start a major reorganization Jan. 1, aimed at improving services to customers and streamline its operations at home and overseas. Nissan said its operation groups in North America and Europe and overseas planning department will be reorganized into a new International Operations Coordination Group. A quality information center will be inaugurated to get data on quality matters and to promptly implement the necessary improvement. The company said a transportation research center will be established to study transportation and traffic issues, and two branches will be set up in western and southwestern Japan.
