Millionaire Left No Will: Robert Holmes a Court, Australia’s richest man before the 1987 stock market crash, left no will for his multimillion-dollar empire when he died last year, the family lawyer said. Australian newspapers estimated his property and share holdings were worth almost A$600 million ($460 million), while Heytesbury Holdings, the family’s private company, had estimated cash reserves of more than A$200 million ($154 million). Under Western Australian law, if a person dies without a will, the estate is divided between the spouse and surviving children. Holmes a Court is survived by his wife, three sons and a daughter.
