Occidental Petroleum Corp., Los Angeles, has promoted J. Roger Hirl to the additional position of chief executive of OxyChem, Occidental’s chemical subsidiary. Hirl will continue as OxyChem’s president, as well as an executive vice president and a director of Occidental. Ray R. Irani will continue to serve as chairman of OxyChem.
