FULLERTON : Forum on Water Plan Scheduled
Local merchants will have an opportunity this week to comment on a proposed emergency water conservation plan that was submitted to the City Council in November.
The plan, prepared by the Fullerton’s water engineering staff in response to the state’s declining water supply, would establish five phases of conservation. All five phases contain penalties for violation of proposed prohibited water uses, such as hosing off concrete driveways, wasting runoff water and serving water in restaurants unless the customer requests it.
In November, the City Council postponed voting on the plan so that the Chamber of Commerce could hold a forum. It will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave. The council is expected to vote on the water plan next month.
