DOWNWARDLY MOBILE: High property prices were a key reason for the decline in mobile homes in the county (above), as land became worth more with single-family homes and condos on it. . . . But even when mobile home parks survived, residents complained of overnight rent increases of 400% or more. In March, though, Anaheim residents may get some help: a special election with an advisory ballot calling for rent control for mobile home residents.
