Van Nuys Plant May Produce Electric Car: General Motors’ Van Nuys auto plant is a possible site for production of the Impact electric car, GM President Lloyd Reuss said in Detroit. Production of the cars now made at Van Nuys--the Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird--is scheduled to be transferred to a Canadian plant in the next few years. Reuss said GM would decide sometime this year where to build the Impact, how many of the electric cars to produce and what they will cost.
