Toyota Considers Full-Size Truck: A top executive of Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. said its parent will decide within 60 days whether to enter the full-size pickup truck market by 1993. Bob McCurry, executive vice president of TMS, also said during a preview for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit that Toyota will add 2,800 U.S. jobs as its operations in the United States expand. McCurry said there is a “50-50 chance” that the truck project will be approved. Toyota is to begin producing compact pickup trucks at its New United Motor Manufacturing Inc. plant in Fremont. That plant produces cars under a joint venture with GM.
