Nation IN BRIEF : MINNESOTA : Durenberger Might Lose Law License
A lawyer’s watchdog group in St. Paul, Minn., asked the Minnesota Supreme Court to indefinitely suspend Sen. Dave Durenberger’s license to practice law, and the senator agreed to the suspension. The petition, filed by William J. Wernz, director of the Minnesota Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility, stems from allegations of financial misconduct that led to the U.S. Senate’s denouncement of the Minnesota Republican last year. The court will make the final decision on disciplinary action, if any, against Durenberger, the group said. Final action could include dismissal of the petition or discipline ranging from reprimand to disbarment.
