ORANGE : New Interim City Attorney Named
Gene Minshew, a retired assistant city attorney, has been appointed to temporarily replace City Atty. Furman Roberts, who retired in December after 22 years of service.
Mayor Gene Beyer announced the interim appointment this week, saying that Minshew was chosen because two current assistant attorneys are potential candidates for the city’s top legal post. Beyer said he wanted an “impartial third party” to fill the position.
The city is expected to complete its search for a new city attorney by Jan. 31.
