La Puente : Redevelopment Hearing Set

Share

A city redevelopment project that could displace 39 homeowners and affect more than 200 businesses will be the subject of a public hearing at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the City Council chambers.

The City Council, acting as the board of the city Redevelopment Agency, will listen to public comment on the plan but is not expected to take any immediate action, said Rick Hartmann, the city’s director of planning and community development.

“We’re going to be very methodical,” he said. Hartmann said the objective of the 92-acre redevelopment effort is to impose current zoning laws on residences and businesses that don’t conform to the standards.

The city has not decided what it wants built in the project area.
