James B. Boyle; Attorney, Gourmet Society Official

James B. Boyle Sr., 86, Pasadena attorney, civic leader and internationally known gourmet who was one of three American managers of the International Wine and Food Society. Born in Ogden, Utah, and educated at the University of Utah and the University of Michigan, Boyle had practiced law in Pasadena since 1927. He served on the board of the State Bar of California and was chairman of the Pasadena School Survey Committee and the Pasadena Human Relations Committee, which were created to deal with school integration. Boyle was active in the Pasadena, Los Angeles and Southern California Wine and Food societies, the Chevaliers du Tastevin and the Commanderie de Bordeaux. In Pasadena on Jan. 1 of natural causes.
