General Motors Europe reported today that sales of its Opel-Vauxhall cars rose 5.2% in 1990 to a record 1.545 million vehicles.

The company said the European market share of the cars rose to 11.6% from 11% in 1989.

GM Europe President Robert J. Eaton said the German market was especially strong, with sales up 23% to 560,000 vehicles. That included sales in what was formerly East Germany.
