Justice Dept. Clears Airline Deal: United Airlines said the Department of Justice has concluded its antitrust review of the proposed acquisition by United of Pan Am’s U.S.-London Heathrow routes as well as other international route authorities. It said the government has granted United’s request for early termination of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976. The proposed transaction still awaits approval from the British government.
