FOUNTAIN VALLEY : Ordinance Would Require Sign Permits
The Planning Commission has revised a proposed sign ordinance to require a permit for all signs and banners posted in the city.
Bus shelter and bench signs would be exempt from the permit process, though those signs must still meet city approval.
Speaking on behalf of the Huntington Valley Board of Realtors and the Chamber of Commerce, Nancy Cooper expressed her concern regarding signs that change frequently such as real estate signs and those placed in retail store windows. She said that securing permits for such signs could become tedious.
City staff members said they would take her concerns into account when presenting the ordinance to the City Council for a final vote Feb. 19.
