Ismail’s Brother Waives Hearing in Burglary Case

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Sulaiman Ismail, the 18-year-old brother of Raghib (Rocket) Ismail, appeared in court Thursday morning in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., where he waived a preliminary hearing on burglary charges.
According to Wilkes-Barre police, the younger Ismail was arrested in class at Meyers High School on Jan. 16 and charged with misdemeanor burglary in a theft at the Lee Park Deli in Hanover Township, where he was once employed. He and two accomplices allegedly entered the deli through an open window at 1 a.m. that day, forced open a compartment and took $853.
Besides burglary, Ismail was also charged with receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and theft, also misdemeanors. He is free on a $5,000 personal-recognizance bond and has not entered a plea.
