At least one person was shot to death during anti-war protests in TURKEY, a base for air raids against Iraq. The man died in the eastern town of Tatvan; it was not clear who fired the shot. In Istanbul, 2,000 demonstrators burned U.S. and Israeli flags. About 1,000 PALESTINIANS marched through the Bakka refugee camp in Jordan to protest the U.S.-led campaign. “Anyone who wants to enlist to go on suicide missions against Western interests, especially in Europe, can now contact the Islamic Jihad movement,” a spokesman for the radical group told the crowd. In TEHRAN, President Hashemi Rafsanjani said his Iranian compatriots will not shed their blood for either Iraq or the United States.
