Allied POWs in Iraq War
You guys are as bloodthirsty as Hussein. On your front page (Jan. 22) you showed the hostages. Why is our media feeding the propaganda machine of Hussein? The photos are just what Hussein wants. Don’t you understand that any clog he can throw into the allied effort is big plus for him? To show the demoralization and the obvious torture of these men, shows you’re willing to give the enemy free space and time. You can tell the families that the hostages are all right without showing the photographs.
But Hussein is smart enough to know how to play the American media; he knows how to throw a bone out there and let you dogs scramble for it. I’m not just attacking your newspaper, but all the media that play into his hands. Didn’t you get enough with Vietnam? Do you have to humiliate our men and women even more? If there’s no pertinent news to report, don’t report anything. Yes, the hostages are pertinent, but the coverage you’re giving them is horrendous!
