Gas Prices Fall: Motorists saw gasoline prices at the pump drop more than 3 cents over the past two weeks, despite the eruption of the Persian Gulf War, according to the biweekly Lundberg Survey. The average price for all grades of gasoline at full- and self-service stations was 130.35 cents per gallon, down 3.08 cents from Jan. 11. The release of millions of gallons of crude oil into the Persian Gulf by Iraqi forces didn’t influence the retail gasoline price over the period surveyed, said Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the survey. “That oil (in Kuwait) was replaced soon after Iraq’s invasion in August by other supplies to meet current demand,” Lundberg said.
