Iraqi crisis: The Times has received 7,019 letters on the Iraq- Kuwait crisis so far; 1,766 letters supported the Bush Administration’s actions; 3,728 were critical of U.S. actions; 867 discussed oil and U.S. energy problems, and 658 related the events to other topics. In the past week, 456 writers backed the allied war effort, while 509 opposed it.
