Gasoline Prices Dip: Average gasoline prices fell during the past week after rising briefly in the days following the outbreak of the Persian Gulf War, the American Automobile Assn. said. The average price of regular gasoline sold at self-service pumps nationwide fell 2.4 cents a gallon to $1.225--the lowest level recorded since Aug. 7, the group said. Despite the most recent decline, the average price of regular gasoline today is still 15 cents a gallon higher than on Aug. 1, the day before Iraq seized Kuwait and the Persian Gulf crisis began, the AAA said.
