Chartwell to Seek Avon Proxy Votes: Chartwell Associates, owner of 22.17% of Avon Products Inc.’s common stock, said it will seek shareholders’ proxy votes for its slate of candidates to the cosmetic-maker’s board. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Chartwell said it intends to seek proxies in support of candidates it will choose for the four board openings at the annual shareholders’ meeting. Chartwell is a limited partnership that includes oil heir Gordon P. Getty’s Family Trust.
