Two Japanese airliners brought 383 Vietnamese workers stranded in Iraq to Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam on Friday, the Japanese Embassy said.

The aircraft, which brought the workers from Cairo after an overnight stop in Tokyo, also carried 80 Thai refugees and two Thai diplomats who were to fly on to Bangkok, the embassy said.

The aircraft followed two Japanese flights from Jordan on Wednesday that brought home 572 Vietnamese who had fled Iraq.
