Vreni Schneider of Switzerland skied to her third gold medal in the World Alpine Championships with a victory in the slalom at Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria. Her time for two heats was 1 minute 25.90 seconds, beating Natasa Bokal of Yugoslavia by 0.16 of a second.
