From Staff and Wire Reports

The U.S. Olympic Committee board of directors passed legislation Saturday that will permit USOC President Robert Helmick to seek another four-year term.

Helmick, who took office after the death of Jack Kelly in 1985, was elected to a four-year term in 1989.

The new rule reads that “a person may not serve as president for more than two full terms successively.”
