The French Foreign Ministry announced that Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied territories will receive gas masks from the EUROPEAN COMMUNITY. Foreign Ministry spokesman Daniel Bernard said the 12-nation group’s foreign ministers made the decision Monday in Brussels. He did not say how many masks the EC would provide or when they would arrive. Israel’s government has equipped Israelis with gas masks as protection from possible chemical attacks from Iraq but has been criticized for slow and limited distribution of the masks to Palestinians.
